Year 5 Trip to Jodrell Bank, by Miss Girven
Date: 17th Jan 2024 @ 4:03pm
Year 5 travelled to Jodrell Bank Observatory today. The trip included interactive exhibitions which offered us valuable insights into astronomy and astrophysics. From unraveling the mysteries of star birth, to grasping the significance of radio waves in cosmic exploration, we immersed ourselves in hands-on learning to discover more about the Solar system and beyond!

Special Friends: Collective Worship, by Mr Rothwell
Date: 22nd Sep 2023 @ 7:52am
Reception and Year 6 came together for Collective Worship. First, Year 6 led Reception in a worship about kindness and friendship ahead of our 'Special Friends' assembly. The Year 6 children helped Reception think of ways we can be kind to each other, and then we drew these examples in our lovehearts. Well done Year 6, you did a great job helping Reception!
After this, we joined in a collective worship together, to reflect on the creation of the world. We added all of God's creations and Reception did very well at remembering the things God made in the world. We added materials and objects to demonstrate God's actions and creations. Thank you to Year 6 for helping Reception complete this.

Music because we're happy!, by Miss Smith
Date: 26th Oct 2022 @ 6:47pm
Year 6 were not very happy that we have finished Pharell William's, "Happy" as our music unit. So much progress has been made, particularly in listening and appraising and we all agreed that Wednesday afternoons are very uplifting indeed, agreeing that music has a special power.
Bear Hunt Yoga, by Miss Girven
Date: 20th Oct 2022 @ 3:56pm
This week we have been continuing to look at 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen. We combined our literacy learning with our current PE topic which is dance. We completed a bear hunt yoga session, stretching lots of muscles in our body and relaxing our minds.
Exploring our senses, by Miss Girven
Date: 20th Oct 2022 @ 3:51pm
Today, we explored our senses of look, smell and taste. We predicted the flavour of the juices through looking at the colour and the smell of the juice and used new describing words to explain the taste such as sweet, sour, tangy, fruity, bitter, tasty, nice and delicious. All the children had a go at trying some new juice flavours they hadn't tried before - even if some of them didn't like the smell!
