St. Paul's v St. Mary's

Last night the Boy’s Football team played their first league game against a strong St. Mary’s team and number of the St. Paul’s team were making their debut. Unfortunately, St. Mary’s took an early lead and despite the best efforts of debutant goalkeeper Kieran (Year 5), St. Mary’s doubled their lead.

During the second half the team were visibly growing in confidence and looking likely to score. The midfield were pressing St. Mary’s and not allowing them to play. Daniel (Year 5) covered every blade of grass during the second half and deserved the Man of the Match award for his effort. Unfortunately, St. Paul’s couldn’t get the breakthrough and eventually lost but the effort and attitude the team showed in the second half was brilliant to see.
