Yr 2 fun- wk 2

Date: 17th Sep 2016 @ 1:43pm

Another busy week in year 2.

We have been working hard to memorise our Little Red Riding Hood story and created our own story maps.

We have been working hard at partitioning numbers into 100s, 10s and 1s. We have started using this understanding to help us write out our own calculations and attempt missing number problems.

In topic we have been studying maps of the United Kingdom. We identified the countries within the United Kingdom and labelled a map. We also found Hyde and Coll.

Roald Dahl Day was really good fun. We looked in detail at his revolting rhymes. This was our favourite verse...

Then Little Red Riding Hood said, “But Grandma,

What a lovely great big furry coat you have on.”

“That’s wrong!” cried the wolf. “Have you forgot

To tell me what BIG TEETH I’ve got?

Ah well, no matter what you say,

I’m going to eat you anyway!”

The small girl smiles. One eyelid flickers.

She whips a pistol from her knickers.

She aims it at the creature’s head

And bang, bang, bang, she shoots him dead.

We are looking forward to lots more fun ahead.
