Lydia Monks at Hyde Library

What a wonderful time we had a Hyde Library! Lydia Monks was charming and witty as she drew sketches for us and shared the process that takes her drawings from sketches to the illustrations in some of our best loved books. She invited some of the children up to the front and drew them a-top their choice of animal!

After that Lydia also shared with us her new book "What the Ladybird Heard" and Amelia was lucky enough to play the part of the Ladybird!

We love reading in Year One and the children have continued to thrill us by bringing in their own favourite book with Lydia Monks' illunstrations in.
