Science/Geography week, by Mrs McGowan

Date: 14th Mar 2025 @ 4:09pm

We have a fantastic week investigating life on Antarctica and how animals have adapted to live there.

We answered two key questions:

"How do penguins stay warm?"

and

"How do penguins stay dry?"

We completed two investigations to prove the answers to these questions.

We found out that penguins have a fatty layer called blubber which keeps them warm.

We also found out that their feathers are covered in a waterproof wax to keep them dry.

We have had lots of fun!

All the children had a go at trying some new juice flavours they hadn't tried before - even if some of them didn't like the smell!
