Crowden Valley

Lesson: Geography

Class: Year 5C Year: 2018 - 2019

Year 5 have enjoyed a fantastic day at Crowden Valley today.

Due to the good weather, we were able to spend all day at the river site, enjoying lots of outdoor activities.

We were very excited to see the river (and lots of sheep!) and spent time observing the landscape and spotting river features, which we had remembered really well from our geography lessons.

We were lucky enough to complete two activities in the river itself - collecting data about the river, including its width, depth and flow rate, as well as river dipping using a kick sampling technique. We managed to find lots of different creatures and identify them using a classification key.

Everyone had a lovely day and I am looking forward to our follow up work in class next week. Enjoy the photographs!
