Year 2

UPDATED 11.01.21

To the wonderful parents/carers of Year Two,

Once again we find ourselves in this difficult position of home learning. I want to support you as best as I can so please do not hesitate to email me on year2@st-pauls-hyde.tameside.sch.uk and I will do my very best to help you. On this page you will find work to be completed in a weekly. The first two weeks were assigned as a 2-week block. You will find the 5 lessons per week in Maths and English on PowerPoints. Some additional sheets will be emailed, if needed. Please don't worry about printing anything. Everything can be written down on a piece of paper. I completely understand the challenging situation most of you are in, and working with your child at home presents difficulties especially if you yourselves are working from home. Please do not feel under pressure to complete every assigned task. I know you all want the best for your children, as do I.

We are now moving towards using Google Classroom. Updated PowerPoints for Week 2 will be on Google Classroom with video recordings on them, to help your children access the work more independently. After week 3, most of the lessons will be on Google Classroom. Please get in touch if you are unsure how to use google classroom and I will help as best as I can.

Please do not hesitate to email me on year2@st-pauls-hyde.tameside.sch.uk if you have any questions or worries and I will gladly help as best as I can. Take care and I hope to see you all very soon. Miss Boyd

During this difficult time of home learning for some children, the teachers have set different tasks for the children to complete. The amount of time that the children dedicate to these tasks each day is completely up to parents’ discretion. Some of the tasks can be completed in the children’s homework books and some of the tasks can be completed and emailed to their teacher.

We are aware that parents and family members might need help or guidance from members of staff. The links that are on the Key Stage pages will help to explain some questions you might have. However, if you still need to contact your child’s class teacher to ask a question about one of the home learning tasks or email the children’s work to them, an email address has been set up for each class.

For details regarding class emails, please visit:

http://www.st-pauls-hyde.tameside.sch.uk/page/school-contacts/65302

These emails have been set up to help the children with their learning.

Teachers will only respond during the usual school hours: Monday to Friday 8:55am – 3:15pm.

Please allow teachers 48 hours to reply to your enquiry.

If you have any urgent enquiries or questions that do not relate to home learning tasks, please email the school office admin@st-pauls-hyde.tameside.sch.uk or telephone 0161 368 2934
