Palm Sunday

Bring all of the children together around the main prayer focus (if you able to do so).

Remind them that this is a time of reflection and prayer.

Give the children time to watch the video about Palm Sunday on the website.

Ask them about what they can see or what they heard?

Activity

As he rode along people spread their cloaks on the road. Some cut branches and spread these before him. The people were all shouting, “Hosanna! Praise God! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna! Praise God!”

To symbolise the beginning of Jesus’ Holy Week journey, please make a palm leaf at home that could be waved in praise as Jesus entered Jerusalem.

These palms could be drawn or painted or made out of real leaves and sticks from your garden. I’ll leave the creating up to you but I will look forward to seeing the what you have created.
