Welcome to Nursery
Welcome to all our new Nursery children, especially those families that are new to St Paul’s.
We are looking forward to getting to know your children this Autumn Here is some information that you will find useful for your child’s transition into Nursery.
Staff: Myself and Mrs Farrell are the members of staff in Nursery we will be supporting your children in their learning journey every morning.
Uniform and Clothing: We will be learning outside in all weathers; please send you child in September with a waterproof coat and a pair of wellington boots (we ask that their wellies be kept in Nursery) Please ensure that all your child’s clothing and footwear has their name on it if an item goes missing it is more likely to be returned to its owner if their name is in it.
Snacks: We would like to take this opportunity at the start of the new school year to remind everyone that we are a healthy school and fruit is provided in Nursery every day alongside milk/water. We regularly have special snacks too, that may be linked to our topic learning.
Nursery Fund: We welcome all donations to our Nursery class fund, fund will be collected on a Friday. The purpose is to help provide those little extras and special snacks, and cooking ingredients etc.
In Autumn term we will be learning to:
RE: The children will be learning about God’s World. Throughout this topic, children will begin to appreciate the beauty of the world and know that God made it. They will learn that God loves and cares for each one of us. They will hear about and respond to the things God created for us. They will know that God has asked us to care for the world and think of ways in which we can help to do it. At Home: You could help your children by looking at pictures of animals and plants and talking about how special creation is and encouraging them to notice different parts of God’s wonderful creation and think of ways to care for the world.
Homework: The children will receive a variety of homework tasks which will be emailed home on a Friday alongside the Nursery Newsletter. This will help you to see what your child is learning in Nursery and working with your child at home will help to build a relationship and link between home and school. You can let us know all about your Home Learning by sending a message and/or photographs to email@example.com
Learning Journeys: Most of the learning your child does in Nursery will go into their individual Learning Journey, along with photographs and observations
Keeping in Touch through Home and School:
