Reception Newsletter and Homework

Dear Parents and Carers.                                                              Friday 11th September 2020

We have had great week getting to know each other. Everyone is beginning to settle in well and is coping with the longer school day.

In Maths we have been learning about 2D shapes and their properties. We have looked for 2D shapes around school and made 2D shape pictures.

In phonics we have been learning the s and a sounds. The children are bringing home these sounds in their phonics books, please help them to learn the sounds and practise the actions. Please write a comment in your child’s reading record each time they read.

We will be collecting voluntary contributions of up to £1 each week this will enable us to provide a selection of healthy snacks for the children as there is usually only one fruit choice each day and some children do feel a little hungrier during the day. Any additional funds will be used to pay for perishable resources to cover the keeping healthy area of the early years Curriculum. Please send voluntary contributions into school each Monday.

This week’s maths challenge:

Do 10 jumps in each room of your house. Count each jump to make sure you only do 10.

Have a good weekend.
